Hypersensitivity to Gluten and Wheat Starch but not Celiac Disease!?

Non-Celiac Gluten Sensitivity (NCGS) diagnosis is not possible but anyway suffering badly. Hypersensitive to gluten, wheat starch and cross-contamination causing a variety of many troublesome symptoms. Also areas with wheat flour dust must be avoided as well as smelling or skin contact with anything containing wheat flour, directly or packaged. Foil packaging is ok as it doesn’t leak and it’s a good alternative to use for avoiding cross-contamination.

“People with non-celiac gluten/wheat sensitivity experience symptoms similar to celiac disease, which resolve when gluten is removed from the diet. They do not test positive for celiac disease. Some people experience symptoms found in celiac disease, such as “foggy mind”, depression, ADHD-like behavior, abdominal pain, bloating, diarrhea, constipation, headaches, bone/joint pain, chronic fatigue when they have gluten in their diet, but not test positive for celiac.” (Celiac Disease Foundation)

Symptoms Similar To Celiac Disease

Non-Celiac Gluten Sensitivity (NCGS) is a condition where individuals experience symptoms similar to celiac disease such as bloating, abdominal pain, diarrhea, headaches and brain fog after consuming gluten, but test negative for celiac disease and wheat allergy. Symptoms improve on a gluten-free diet. The exact cause is unclear but studies suggest it may cause a systemic immune reaction. The primary treatment is a strict gluten-free and wheat starch-free diet. Avoid cross-contamination as well.
